In grammar school, I learned to write in margins: that stingy 1.25” space
from the lefthand edge of a wide-rule.

There went my doodles, outtakes, sketches, scratches and question
marks that only I could see.

Some made it passed right-of-margin; most didn’t.
I remember those that didn’t more than those that did.
